WEEKEND WORKSHOPS BASED ON THE JULY FOCUS OF THE MONTH
with Ruth Lauer-Manenti, Senior Teacher, assisted by Rima Rabbath, Jivamukti Yoga NYC

Saturday, July 5th – Forward Bending
Sunday, July 6th - Back Bending
1:30pm – 4:00pm

Cost: £30
Rima will also be teaching the 7:15pm Open Classes on Wednesday, July 2nd and Thursday, July 3rd

Lady Ruth is very happy to be coming to London to teach from the vast and beautiful subject of Yoga. Some discussion on kindness will definitely take place as well as prayers for the sake of generating peace in the world and in our own lives. Workshops will be thorough and challenging, not rushed, on the slow side with emphasis on proper breathing and finding a way of moving at whatever level that contains poise. All levels are welcome. Classes will be 2 ½ hours long with a little time after for questions. She will be assisted by one of her most outstanding students and friends, the lovely Rima Rabbath. Since Lady Ruth gets to London so infrequently, she hopes all Jivamukti Yoga students can attend. She is looking forward to meeting her Jivamukti family abroad. Please come!

Ruth started practicing yoga in 1989 as a way of healing from a bad car accident. She has made numerous trips to India where she has had many lessons from great masters as well as from the local people. She is currently helping to fund the building and running of an orphanage in downtown Mysore, a bustling city in India, where Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and his family live….Ruth’s strength as a teacher comes from her gurus: David-ji and Sharon-ji, their courage and perseverance; Sri K. Pattabhi Jois who is perfect in every way; her Sanskrit teacher Jaya Shree who has “pushed the Yoga Sutras into me”; her husband, the gentle nurse and humble tai chi master and from her own practice and studies which are never ending.

Rima is a certified advanced Jivamukti teacher with a full-time schedule at the Manhattan studio. She is extremely grateful to her teachers – Sharon-ji, David-ji, Lady Ruth, and Yogeswari – and to their teachers for passing on the ancient wisdom of yoga. THE ART OF ASANA & VINYASA KRAMA
with Yogeswari (Estelle Eichenberger), Senior Jivamukti/Advanced Certified Yoga Teacher from New York City

Friday, July 25th – Sunday, July 27th
Cost:
£30 each workshop

FRIDAY, 6:00pm – 9:00pm:
Forward Bends and Hip Openers

SATURDAY, 1:30pm – 4:00pm:
Backbends

SUNDAY, 1:30pm – 4:00pm: Balancing on Hands and Feet

Vinyasa Krama is commonly known as “flow,” or linking mechanism that ties together posture and breath. Vinyasa Krama actually means uninterrupted sequence of events, placed in deliberate order, from beginning to end.  Vinyasa Krama teaches us “how to” string our relationships together with attention and detail, so that our whole circle of relationships and existence becomes a harmonious and fluid necklace of precious pearls.

This workshop will enter into a deeper understanding and the details of proper execution of Asana within the context of Vinyasa Krama, as it relates to the practice on our mat, as well as its practical application in our daily lives. Each class will focus on a specific group of Asanas, such as Backbends, Twists, Hip Openers, Inversions, and how to best group Asanas together, in order to give the Vinyasa sequence maximum efficiency.

FRIDAY, JULY 25th 6:00pm – 9:00pm: FORWARD BENDS AND HIP OPENERS
Explores how we can maintain heat and interest in a Vinyasa that occurs mainly on the floor, and how Vinyasa can serve us to get deeper into the Asanas. The esoteric correlation is with regards to our unresolved, past relationships.

SATURDAY, JULY 26th 1:30pm – 4:00pm: BACKBENDS
Through Backbends, we open ourselves to the future, and we develop an ability to express genuine compassion and love, beyond just our families and friends. A solid Vinyasa keeps the back flexible and warm, and a deeper experience of Backbends is facilitated

SUNDAY, JULY 27th 1:30pm – 4:00pm: BALANCING ON HANDS AND FEET
Generally, we have a tendency to approach balancing postures abruptly and aggressively. In doing so, however, we lose our connection with the earth and with our own center, which is precisely the support we need in order to successfully maintain balance. By means of Vinyasa, we develop a deep inner consciousness that allows us to feel a successive, uninterrupted sequence of events that will get us there. We then begin to move away from a sense of panic and impatience to a sense of stability, self-confidence and grace.

Yogeswari is one of the senior-most teachers of the Jivamukti method. Based in New York City, she teaches around the world, and is well-known for her thought-provoking teachings, and her vigorous and inventive sequencing ability. TANDAVA and YOGA TRANCE DANCE with Lisa Larn and Pathaan

Friday, August 8th
8:15pm – 10:15pm
Cost
: £20

From our first experience of rhythm - listening to our mother's heartbeat and hearing her lullabies - we are initiated into the world of tribal beats and melody. Recent scientific studies show that listening to Mozart can create profound psychological and physical change. Shamanic tribal music has the power to heal entire villages. The Sufi mystics in Turkey commune with God through music. Music has even been used to pull people out of a coma. We are born to dance….just watch a toddler instinctively align to the beat of their favourite tune. It's in our blood.

JOIN US as we embrace our tribal roots and come out of our coma! A fusion of heart -wrenching bass, fluid flowing motion, full body pulsations to the sacred beat - a full power expression of your own personal creative life force!

MEET US where science and Yoga merge - the vibratory pulse which is our universe and IS our very bodies! It's YOGA... but not as we know it. Music by Pathaan, a world renowned UK based DJ who embodies the fusion between dance and world music - his empathy and connection to the source of love and music is palpable through his incredible musical offerings.

Lisa Larn uses a combination of free flow yoga and intuitive coaching to experience freedom in her own being and then transmit that to others. With this offering of Tandava she merges her love of clubbing (years of working in the music industry before teaching Yoga!) with her love of yoga which is the practice of being who we really are through LIBERATION from fear, conditionings, old belief patterns, pain, limited mind and the body as a rigid form. This free form dance reminds us through direct experience that we are beautiful sacred bags of molecules with an infinite capacity for renewal and JOY in every cell. Pranams to Shiva Rea who initiated her in this ancient practice of Tandava and Yoga Trance Dance and who connected her with Pathaan for these journeys. “Music is a means to strengthen and revitalize the spirit.” - Pathaan

AYURVEDA AND YOGA INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOP
with Yogi Dr. Amrit Raj

Sunday, August 17th
1:30pm – 3:30pm
Cost:
£20

The Ayurveda and Yoga Introductory Workshop will include topics such as how transformation can occur in one’s life with Ayurveda, offering nutritional advice and suggested foods to eat that are specifically helpful for your dosha type. Ways to incorporate stress reduction and wellness through creating vitality. As well as how to overcome suffering and instead create vitality through Ayurveda and Yoga.

Ayurveda is the oldest and most developed science of natural healing in the world. The term ‘Ayurveda’ literally means the science of life. In fact, it is not merely a system of healing, but an entire way of life that aims to bring about balance of the entire personality, body, mind and spirit. Ayurveda is based on the theory of Tri-Dosha, or the three humors of Vata, Kapha and Pitta. Disease arises when there is an imbalance among the three doshas. The aim of the therapy is to bring about the required equilibrium.

Yogi Dr. Amrit Raj runs a famous Ayurvedic centre with his parents near Delhi in India and is currently setting up a practice in New York and UK. In Yoga classes or Ayurvedic treatment sessions, talks or workshops, attendees will witness his depth of knowledge and wisdom combined with loving care in the aim of promoting perfect health and happiness.

He is also the owner and publisher of the Arogyadham Magazine India's most popular family health magazine. Published in Hindi (and soon to be English) the magazine is read worldwide with regular contributions from Yogiji. Yogi Dr. Amrit Raj has given lectures, seminars, workshops and classes on Ayurveda and yoga in places such as the United Nations, The White House, Various Hindu Temples, Yoga Studios, Ashrams, Spas and colleges.
